Lisiane Veiga Mattos

Professor and Coordinator

Lisiane Veiga Mattos holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993), a master’s degree in chemical engineering from COPPE/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1996), and a PhD from COPPE/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000). She worked as a researcher at the National Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2008. She is currently Associate Professor IV in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) and holds the position of Coordinator of Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies at the Dean of Research, Graduate Studies, and Innovation at UFF. She is a level 2 productivity fellow at CNPq and a Scientist of Our State at Faperj. She held the position of vice-coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering at UFF between 2020 and 2022. She served as coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering (UFF) from 2016 to 2020. She is also part of the faculty of the Doctorate in Sustainable Management Systems at UFF. She has experience in the field of Chemical Engineering, with an emphasis on Chemical Kinetics and Catalytic Processes, working mainly on the following topics: (i) production of synthesis gas and hydrogen from biomass and natural gas, (ii) CO2 conversion, (iii) transformation of biomass into liquid fuels, (iv) energy generation in fuel cells, and (v) development of photocatalysts for waste degradation and hydrogen production. He currently has over 80 articles in international journals, with 5,271 citations and an H-index of 41 in the Scopus database.
